For these Series, I use the experimental process of cyanotype and natural dyes as it forces me to slow down and the result is beyond my control.
I am interested in the concept of "Derailment", a sense of being forced or pulled "off course". My work is an improvisation around grids as well as hidden family migration and personal stories. Each art piece is a temporary piece towards a new creation.
With the the wandering figures, I want to create a shadowy anchor of presence in spaces of uncertainty and I invite the viewer to reflect on the challenge of holding attention.
