Bio

I am a French artist living in London.

I studied  photography at L.S.P,"Fine Art Course" as well as "Mixed Media and Drawing" at City lit.I am currently finishing the course "Contemporary Practice : Personal project Course". I attend regularly the International Festival on Experimental Photography activities. I am also part of their online school “Agora” where I am currently studying “Exploring experimental photography”.

I use various mediums like camera less photography and  mixed media. I like to push materials and processes together without boundaries.  I am interested in the physicality and performance of the piece, experimenting, playing, pushing, cutting, stamping, destroying or melting the work in reference to the verb list of Richard Serra. My aim is to break and then mend and repair. As I cannot make sense of the world, it helps me  to play with materials, go back to the core and follow my intuition. I tackle my fear by looking directly at the dangerous world and become an alchemist.

Artist's statement

The concept of ‘derailment’ lays at the core of my practice, a sense of being forced or pulled ‘off course’. My work is an art the meanders and wanders, and draws our attention – however momentarily – to the complexity and flux of our past and present. In the recurring motif of the ‘wandering’ figure I created a shadowy ‘anchor’ of presence in spaces of uncertainty – like tally marks that say ‘I was here, but now I am elsewhere’. My practice draws on family history, and the multi-directionality of my ancestor’s migrations alongside themes of neurodiversity and ADHD. In the accelerated and ever-changing contemporary world, this is an invitation to reflect on the challenges of holding attention, of staying ‘on the rails’, of trying to contain all that is ever moving in ourselves and in our hyperactive world.

In my new Series called “Derailed”, I am interested in what happens when outside forces like war, governmental decisions, disease, or unplanned events alter the course of one’s life. Film negatives are incorporated and layered and I use various mediums like camera less photography (cyanotype) and  mixed media with natural dyes. I like to push materials and processes together without boundaries.  I am interested in the physicality and performance of the piece, experimenting, playing, pushing, cutting, stamping, destroying or melting the work in reference to the verb list of Richard Serra. My aim is to break and then mend and repair. I tackle my fear by looking directly at the dangerous world and become an alchemist.
